I HAVE BEEN TAKING PICTURES FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER..

As a little kid my parents always had the camera out for any event, birthdays, sports, even day to day activity. For my 16th birthday I got a camera of my own and the rest is history! I got my bachelors degree from SUNY Potsdam in upstate NY, in visual arts. I later studied at Syracuse University to get my masters in Art Education.

I met my husband, Max in 2009, and since then we have moved to three different states, owning 3 different homes and becoming parents to two sweet little girls. Charlotte is 6 years old and Audrey who is 4 this summer.

I have been teaching art in public schools for the past 11 years and currently teach at a local public elementary school in Boynton Beach.

Our move to Florida ignited my creativity. I wanted to explore the business side of photography and start taking photos to capture the moments that I love so much for other people. I continue to invest in my business with new state of the art equiptment, props, courses, and licenses.

What to know for picture day

what to wear.

The number one rule is that everyone is comfortable in the clothing they are wearing when getting pictures taken, if you’re not comfortable it will show in the pictures!

For family portraits a variety of textures and one or two different pattens to off set a couple of solid color choices. Too many different patterns can make the pictures look busy.

Neutral colors with pops of color is nice for any setting inside or out. Try not to blend in with your background. Dressing in colors that compliment each other is also an option, colors that are in a family together, like golden tones and earthy tones for example. I am happy to help style your shoot, or give you samples!

location and time of day.

I am available most evenings and Saturdays and Sundays.

Lighting makes a difference when taking pictures so usually it is preferable to take photos in the beginning of the day or closer to sunset. When the sun is high in the sky and you are taking photos outside it is hard to avoid the sun in the eye look or dramatic shadows.

Location is completely up to you! I can give suggestions of places I’ve been in your area but it would be nice to go somewhere that you find beautiful, or that is special to you or your family. Make sure to bring snacks for family members as to avoid the inevitable out of no where hunger! That goes for babies as well, make sure to have a bottle available. Also if you have children and we will be waking from location to location (such as worth ave.) bring a stroller to relieve the littles feet!

At home.

Photos in the comfort of your own home is special. I can capture children at their best especially in their own element. I do all of my lifestyle newborn shoots at home.
